At The Rare Room, we take care to pack and ship every order with the same attention that goes into sourcing our rare finds.

Processing Time

Orders are processed within 1–3 business days after payment confirmation. You will receive an email confirmation once your order has shipped.

UK Shipping

All UK orders are sent via Royal Mail Tracked 48 (2–3 business days) with full online tracking.

Customs & Import Duties

The rules vary by country — here is what your customers can expect:

🇺🇸 USA — Great news, usually nothing to pay

The USA has a de minimis threshold of $800. This means any order under $800 in value arrives with no import duties and no federal tax. Since almost all of our items are well below this threshold, US customers typically receive their orders with no extra charges at all.

🇪🇺 European Union

For orders under €150: no customs duties apply, but your country's local VAT (typically 20%) may be collected by your postal service upon delivery. For orders over €150, customs duties also apply. We are working towards IOSS registration which will allow EU VAT to be collected at checkout so there are no surprises on delivery.

🇨🇦 Canada

Canada has a low duty-free threshold. Orders may be subject to GST/HST and possibly import duties depending on the declared value. Most small vintage items arrive without issue, but we cannot guarantee duty-free delivery.

🇦🇺 Australia & New Zealand

Australia applies GST (10%) on all imported goods regardless of value. New Zealand applies GST (15%) on imports over NZD $1,000. For most of our items, only Australian GST applies and is collected by Australian customs on delivery.

All other countries

Import duties and taxes vary by destination country. Please check your local customs regulations before ordering. These charges are the responsibility of the recipient and are not included in our prices.

Important Notes on Customs

• All packages are declared accurately with a full description and correct value — we do not falsify customs declarations
• Refused or unclaimed packages returned to us are refunded minus the original and return shipping costs
• We are not responsible for delays caused by customs

Tracking

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a tracking number by email. UK orders can be tracked at royalmail.com. International orders include full online tracking.
