Vintage Attwood & Sawyer 1980s Silver Pave Rhinestone Figural Salamander Lizard

Attwood and Sawyer made some of the best pavé figural work in British costume jewelry, and the salamander is one of the less common subjects.

A signed figural brooch in silver-tone metal, the entire body set with clear pavé rhinestones. The single red stone at the eye is the only colour note in an otherwise monochrome piece. Eight centimetres long, narrow and sinuous, with articulated legs in a running pose.

The reverse carries the Attwood & Sawyer signature and a functioning trombone clasp.

The length suits a coat lapel or jacket where it can run along the line of the fabric — more effective than a flat cluster would be in the same space. Works well on plain dark wool or a simple neckline; less suited to busy prints where the silver would disappear.
