Gwenda compacts from this period are not easy to find with both the mirror and the original powder intact.

A rectangular powder compact from the 1930s, made in England by Gwenda. The exterior is covered in a snakeskin-pattern panel in cream and olive-grey tones, framed in silver-tone metal with rounded corners. The lid opens to reveal a square mirror on one side and the original powder pan with puff on the other.

Gwenda was an established British vanity accessories brand of the interwar period, producing compacts, lipstick holders, and vanity cases — pieces that were considered everyday luxuries for women of the era.

It sits neatly in a coat pocket or small clutch. The snakeskin covering and silver-tone frame read well against both modern minimalist interiors and vintage dressing tables. Use it as a working compact or display it open to show the mirror.
