Vintage Mali of England 1980s 1990s Silver-Plated Bear Brooch Figural Animal UK

Mali of England made a small number of figural brooches worth tracking down, and this bear is one of the better ones.

A two-part brooch from the 1980s–1990s, cast in silver-plated metal with a matte satin finish. The bear figure holds a large rounded sack, connected by a small jump ring to a companion fish panel on the left. The casting is detailed — the fish has engraved scale texture on the reverse, the bear has a raised face with small sculpted features.

Mali of England produced signed costume pieces sold through British gift and jewellery retailers. The back carries the full Mali trademark stamp, model number 97, and "ENGLAND."

The scale is generous — 5 × 3 cm — which works well on a thick lapel, a coat, or a knitwear collar. The dual-piece construction gives the brooch a slight movement. It suits a plain mid-tone outfit better than a patterned one.
