The Royal Artillery motto is cast directly into the metal — "Quo Fas Et Gloria Ducunt" on one scroll, "Ubique" on the other.
A British Royal Artillery cap badge in gold-tone brass, centred on the regiment's iconic field gun wheel with a cannon to the left and two motto scrolls flanking it. The design follows the classic RA pattern used from the early 20th century through the mid-century period.
The back carries a horizontal slider bar fastening, the standard fitting for British military cap badges of this era. There is some white paint residue on the reverse, which is common on badges that were mounted on a backing board or display at some point.
Wears on a lapel or jacket as a regimental brooch. The slider bar means it sits flat and does not project forward the way a standard brooch pin does. The scale at 5 × 5 cm is bold enough to read clearly at a distance, which is exactly what a cap badge is designed to do.
