Dress shirt studs with a screw-back mechanism are rarely found complete and in their original box.
A pair of mid-century brass dress shirt studs, made in Great Britain. The face is a small flat brass disc with a concentric-ring detail; the back is a white ribbed plastic screw that fastens through the shirt placket. Both studs are in their original presentation box — the card insert printed with "Dress Stud / Screw Action / Made in Great Britain" in period Gothic type.
The screw-back mechanism was the secure alternative to snap studs, preferred for formal occasions where movement might otherwise dislodge a looser fitting.
These suit a formal dress shirt with a placket front — worn with black tie or white tie. The brass face is small and low-profile, sitting flush with the shirt. Works with a single stud or as part of a set if paired with matching cufflinks.
