Lancashire Fusiliers cap badges in this two-tone construction appear regularly in regimental collections — the Egypt globe motif is one of the most recognisable in British military heraldry.
A British Army cap badge for the Lancashire Fusiliers, cast in gold-tone metal for the upper sphere and hackle and silver-tone metal for the scroll banners below. The face carries the regimental Egypt globe — a laurel-wreathed sphere inscribed "Egypt" flanked by the scroll reading "Lancashire · The · Fusiliers." The badge dates to the mid-twentieth century, when the regiment was active before its 1968 amalgamation into the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.
The reverse is plain metal with traces of adhesive where the original pin fastening has detached.
The badge suits a display board or shadow box with other regimental pieces, or framed alongside cap cards and photographs. At 5 × 6 cm it reads well at a short distance without dominating a grouping.
