Graduated rhinestone rivières from the 1950s are one of the cleanest costume jewellery forms — and this one has held up very well.

A mid-century collar necklace in gold-tone metal set with round cobalt blue rhinestones, graduating from small at the back to larger stones at the centre front. The individual prong settings are a hallmark of 1950s quality construction, holding each stone at four points rather than the cheaper channel or glue-set methods that came later.

The spring ring clasp is original and functioning.
