Gold-tone cufflinks with engine-turned borders are harder to find in this condition than plain-face pairs.
A mid-century pair made in England, round-faced with a fine engine-turned border ring around a smooth central panel. The fitting is a torpedo-back toggle, the standard for well-made English cufflinks of the 1950s and 1960s. Marked "Made in England" stamped on the bar.
The design is deliberately understated — round and geometric with no applied motif. That makes them versatile: they work with a white dress shirt for formal occasions, or with a striped or patterned shirt where the simplicity of the face lets the shirt do the talking.
