Gold-tone cufflinks with a mother of pearl face — the square sunburst border is the detail that dates them precisely.
A pair from the 1960s, each face set with a smooth square mother of pearl inset in a textured radiating border. The engine-turned sunburst engraving on the gold-tone frame is a hallmark of mid-century British men's dressing, when cufflinks were made to last and be noticed up close.
The reverse has a torpedo swivel-bar fitting — the classic mechanism of the period, well-made and still working cleanly.
A quiet way to wear something considered. The square face sits flat under a cuff with no bulk. Works with a white or pale blue business shirt, or equally well with a linen shirt for a less formal occasion.
