Vintage 1970s Black Silver-Tone Floral Botanical Necklace Mother Of Pearl Inlay

Black lacquered oval pendants with mother of pearl inlay work are one of the more quietly satisfying finds from this period.

A 1970s pendant necklace with a deep black oval set on a silver-tone link chain. The pendant carries an inlaid mother of pearl design — a large carved leaf or lotus motif at the top, a small leaf and a round cream cabochon bead at the lower half. The inlay is set flush into the black surface and catches light with the soft iridescence typical of shell work.

The reverse is plain black, smooth and highly polished, with no visible maker's mark.

The pendant sits at a mid-length point on the necklace — long enough to rest below the collarbone, short enough to wear with an open neckline or a V-neck. The scale is moderate: substantial enough to anchor an outfit but not oversized. Works well with plain dark tops, linen, or anything where the black-and-white contrast reads clearly.
