The Royal Welch Fusiliers hackle badge is one of the more distinctive regimental insignia in British military history.
This is a two-piece cap badge in mixed-metal — a silver-tone disc with the regimental name and crowned lion crest, joined to a gold-tone flaming grenade (the hackle bomb, the regiment's most recognisable symbol). The construction and finish are consistent with regimental badge production from the 1970s–1980s, though the regiment's badge design dates back much further.
The pin fitting on the reverse is the standard British lug-and-slider mechanism, the same type used on service-issue and mess-dress versions.
Worn on a jacket lapel, a cap, or displayed on a ribbon board. The two-tone finish reads well pinned to dark cloth — navy, khaki, or black. Small enough to wear discreetly; distinctive enough to read clearly at arm's length.
