The Royal British Legion badge in this star-burst design is one of the more visually striking versions — the radiating gold-tone rays give it real presence on the lapel.
A mid-to-late 20th century cast-metal badge from the Royal British Legion, the UK's leading armed forces charity founded in 1921. The star-burst body is gold-tone with a blue enamel ring bearing the full organisation name, a silver-tone lion head at the centre, and a small crown detail. The reverse has a full bar-pin mechanism with a roller clasp.
There is a small spot of verdigris patina on the upper reverse — not visible from the front.
A piece with clear provenance and purpose — worn to Remembrance events, parades, or as a year-round mark of support for veterans. The scale (5 × 5 cm) reads well on a jacket lapel, overcoat, or blazer. Works as a statement of affiliation as much as decoration.
