Theatrical mask cufflinks are an uncommon find — most figural men's accessories from this period were abstract or geometric.

A pair of silver-tone cufflinks cast in the form of theatrical mask faces, with deep oxidised recesses and scrollwork detailing across the surface. Each face is oval, rendered with expressive features and decorative curling motifs framing the eyes and brow. The backs use a toggle-bar mechanism rather than the more common whale-back, which lies flat against the cuff and holds securely through the buttonhole.

The oxidised finish is deliberate — the darkened recesses throw the raised scrollwork into relief, giving the piece a more sculptural quality than a polished finish would allow.

These work best on a plain or textured cuff where the detail reads clearly. They suit a dress shirt equally well as a casual occasion — the theatrical subject is conversational without being too outré for a professional context.
