Long rope necklaces in this chunky oval-link pearl style are a very particular 1980s reference.
A gold-tone oval curb chain with a faux pearl set into each link — the pearl sits flush inside the link rather than hanging or dangling. The chain is 60 cm, which puts it at mid-chest worn as a single loop. At this length it doubles easily into a two-strand choker-length piece, or triples for a closer collar effect.
No clasp — the chain slips on over the head, which keeps the silhouette clean with no hardware visible at the back.
Works well over a simple crew neck or a shirt collar, where the chunky gold-and-pearl combination reads as one deliberate statement rather than several stacked pieces. The scale is substantial enough to carry an open neckline. Doubles nicely with a second chain of a different texture if you layer.
