Silver-tone novelty cufflinks with a sense of humour rarely survive still looking this sharp.
A pair of rectangular silver-tone cufflinks from the 1980s, each face set with black enamel and engraved with "DANGER / HIGHLY ADDICTIVE" in a warning-label format. The text is cut through the enamel to reveal the silver-tone metal beneath, giving the lettering a clean, graphic quality.
The toggle-bar fitting (whale-back) is a practical choice — easy to fasten single-handed and secure through a standard cuff buttonhole.
These read best on a white or pale-blue shirt where the black face has contrast. The scale is compact enough for a formal cuff without looking oversized. Novelty cufflinks of this type were popular gifts in the 1980s–1990s and hold up well as conversation pieces now.
