Italian-made velvet clutches sold through British department stores seldom survive with the woven label still stitched inside.
A black evening clutch in crushed viscose velvet, cut as a tapered pouch gathered into a glossy dark frame. A small black knob presses shut against a metal catch — no strap or chain, only the frame to hold.
The lining is glossy black, with a grey woven Debenhams label and a separate fibre tag beside it.
It carries cards, keys and a lipstick, held in the hand or tucked under the arm. Crushed velvet absorbs light rather than reflecting it, so the pile reads deepest under lamplight; against cream, grey or camel it becomes the one dark shape in the outfit.
