The central stone carries this piece — the scrollwork around it is framing, not decoration.
A brooch in antiqued gold-tone metal with a large faceted oval blue stone at the centre, surrounded by clear rhinestones and small blue accent stones set into the upper scrolls. The openwork metalwork has an Art Nouveau quality — looping tendrils, organic curves — common in Victorian-revival costume production of the 1970s and 1980s. Not magnetic, which confirms non-ferrous metal construction. Signed on the reverse with a cross/X mark; maker not yet identified.
It works on a coat lapel, a structured jacket, or a heavy-knit collar. The 7 × 5 cm scale reads substantial but not overwhelming. The blue sits well against navy, burgundy, grey, and neutral cream. Wears alone — does not need pairing.
