Ceramic animal brooches from this period were made by a handful of British potteries — most pieces are unsigned, which makes them harder to attribute but no less appealing.

A mid-century British ceramic brooch in the form of a seated donkey. Matte stoneware in grey-white, with darker-toned mane and muzzle detail sculpted in relief. The "Made in England" sticker on the reverse places it as a domestic pottery piece, likely 1950s–1960s.

The three-dimensional modelling is carefully done — the animal's posture, haunch, and facial expression are all rendered with character. These small figural ceramic pieces sat at the edge between souvenir craft and wearable object.

Small enough for a collar or lapel without overwhelming. Works on knitwear, a wool coat, or a linen shirt. The matte grey-white tone sits neutrally against most colours.
