Chinese cabinet-style jewellery boxes with engraved brass hardware this age are not easy to find.
A double-door wooden jewellery cabinet in the Chinese tradition, with a dark lacquered exterior over warm wood panels and heavy cast-brass corner brackets, hinges, and butterfly-motif clasps throughout. The interior is lined in green woven fabric with a shelved upper section and a divided lower compartment — practical for bracelets, necklaces, or small jewellery sets.
The brass fittings are the standout feature here: thick engraved plates at every corner, two large decorative clasps on the doors, and a bar-lock closure across the top. The piece opens as a cabinet rather than a hinged lid, which gives access to the full height of the interior at once.
It needs attention before display or use — the structure is loose overall and one door hinge has detached. With basic repair and a clean, it would read well on a bedroom dressing table or a display shelf. Best approached as an upcycle project by a buyer who appreciates the hardware.
