Figural brooches from Spain's souvenir workshops of the 1960s–70s rarely survive in this kind of condition.
A gold-tone brooch depicting a matador mid-pass, cape swirling in red enamel, bull at his feet. Made in Spain — the mark is stamped clearly on the back. The scrollwork on the body is cast with more detail than most pieces of this type.
The piece doesn't magnetise, which is consistent with brass or zinc alloy rather than steel base — good news for longevity of the gold-tone finish.
Works on a dark or neutral lapel where the red enamel reads clearly. The scale is compact enough for a jacket or coat but bold enough to carry a plain knit. The kind of brooch that prompts questions.
