Lotus Pearls is a mid-century English maker — their boxed sets in tortoiseshell cases turn up rarely.
A pair of 1950s screw-back earrings from Lotus Pearls, made in England. Each earring features a single round faux pearl bead in a warm cream-white tone, set on a dark bronze-tone screw-back fitting. The earrings come in their original presentation box — a small tortoiseshell-patterned case with cream satin lining and beige velvet earring holder inside.
The screws turn smoothly and the mechanism is intact. Screw-backs from this period were the standard before pierced ears became commonplace, and this pair is in notably good order.
The scale is small and refined — these sit close to the earlobe and read as quietly polished rather than bold. They suit a collarless shirt or simple knit equally well. The bronze-tone setting gives them a warmer cast than silver-tone alternatives from the same era.
