Miracle made Celtic jewellery that still looks considered rather than folksy.
A 1970s brooch from the British maker Miracle, known for Scottish and Celtic-inspired costume pieces. The interlaced oval frame carries repeating wheat-leaf motifs in darkened bronze-tone metal. The centrepiece is a large oval natural agate cabochon — banded brown, cream and honey tones, set in a four-prong mount.
The design draws on the Celtic knotwork tradition without literal reproduction of it — the interlace feels more Art Nouveau than souvenir shop.
The scale is generous enough to anchor a lapel or a coat collar. It reads well on dark wool — tweed, charcoal, forest green — where the warm agate tones come forward. Wears equally well on a scarf or as a focal piece on a plain jersey.
