The Maltese cross is one of the most enduring heraldic forms in Western jewelry — this costume version does it with restraint.
A silver-tone Maltese cross brooch set with small dark marcasites along each of the eight arms. The metal between the stones carries a fine textured ground, giving depth to what might otherwise read as a plain setting. The reverse shows clean brushed silver-tone with a functioning pin closure.
The shape has roots in the Knights of Malta and is equally at home as a heraldic motif, a religious symbol, or a graphic geometric form. At 2.5 cm across it reads clearly without being oversized.
At this scale it sits well on a jacket lapel, shirt collar, or the pocket of a wool coat. The silver-tone and dark stone combination works with navy, black, grey, and burgundy without competing with other pieces. Wear it alone or pair it with a small chain.
