Spoon jewellery is one of those craft traditions that keeps finding new fans — these are a good example of why.
A pair of drop earrings made from the bowls of vintage silver-tone spoons, the necks cut away and French fishhook wires attached. Each bowl retains its original domed form and the small decorative stamp where the neck met the bowl — a detail that makes the spoon origin unmistakable up close. The surface has developed a warm patina in the recesses, consistent with age.
This style was popular in the 1970s and 1980s as part of the handmade jewellery movement — makers would source old flatware and repurpose the bowls into pendants and earrings.
The scale is generous without being heavy — they hang well and move. Works with a plain crew neck or open collar, equally at home in a casual or boho register. Long enough to catch the light when the hair is up.
