Stratton made tie clips in Birmingham for decades — this is one of the cleaner examples I've seen.
A mid-century gold-tone bar tie clip by Stratton, made in England. Plain polished face with a cross-hatched spring grip on the reverse, narrow profile suited to the slim tie widths of the 1960s. Marked "Stratton Made in England Pat.N 2 164 082" on the clip body.
The patent number dates this to Stratton's mid-century production run. The mechanism is a straight spring-bar type — simple, reliable, and still functioning as intended.
The slim profile works with modern narrow ties as naturally as it did with 1960s originals. Sits flat against the tie and doesn't catch when buttoning a jacket. The understated design means it pairs with almost any tie colour without competing with it.
