The flaking on these beads is characteristic of vintage simulated pearl — the luster coating wore unevenly, which is exactly what age looks like on pieces from this era.
A three-strand choker in champagne-ivory faux pearl beads, held together by a gold-tone ornate scroll-work connector at the front, from which a single teardrop pendant drop hangs. The strands are knotted between beads in the traditional manner. The extension chain and spring-ring closure allow adjustment.
The connector hardware has an elaborate decorative quality — scrolled and textured in a style common to 1960s–1980s costume jewelry.
Sits close to the throat in true choker length. Works as a single piece over a high neckline or a simple round-neck top. The champagne tone reads warmer than white pearl, which makes it easier to wear with ivory, cream, or warm-toned fabrics rather than stark white.
